Ghana’s fashion scene has been up to a lot of good lately. It’s fresh crop of new designers including Brigitte Merki brought pastels to the runway displaying flirty yet feminine evening and cocktail dresses made from tulle, cotton and lace fabrics. The collection came together cohesively flaunting a colour palette of baby blue, yellow and champagne, nudes and pinks. On the other hand, Adebayo Jones’ statement pieces could definitely resonate with any woman. There was something for everyone from simple chic to royal elegant and shameless luxury. Jones has been 25 years in the game as a UK-based designer from Nigeria and still delivers. Shiny, shimmering, and radiant, most of the models were clad in gold and silver metallic hues except for a splash of black, green and one red feather show-stopper. Only one word could fully describe the essence of Jones’ collection as it came down the runway – luxe.
