Chanel took fashion couture sky-high on Tuesday, taking its style audience for day two of the Paris haute couture show on board a model aircraft built inside the Grand Palais exhibition hall for the purpose of the event.

Air hostesses strutted the entire length of the plane’s blue interior serving champagne to guests. Karl Lagerfield took his presentation to the next level, picking a blue palette theme to represent the air and sky. His collection, of over 154 shades of blue featured puffy sleeves, low waistlines, chimney collars, short and long dresses. “Blue is a palette all in itself,” Lagerfeld said, “the colour of air, of the sky, or the eyes of a little cat” — like the one he was recently given as a gift. During the day, an array of suits in tones of nay and royal blue came down the runway with minimal sequin embroidery. Throughout the evening, each dress displayed intricate patterns and rich glittery embroidery at he hem while some dresses were encrusted with jewels and glass-like pebbles. The event was rounded off by a embroidered bodice atop an ice-blue knee-length train in what would be described as a unique wedding dress.
